Alumni Association of Henan Normal University (AAHNU) was officially registered with  Civil Affairs Department of Henan Province in May 2014 and became a member of Alumni Research Society of University in 2015. AAHNU is supervised by the Education Department of Henan Province and registered with Civil Affairs Department of Henan Province, and it operates as an independent legal entity with a non-profit and fellowship nature.   

With a focus on “serving alumni, the alma mater, and society”, AAHNU aims to establish a vibrant alumni communication system, build a comprehensive alumni resource network, and create a harmonious community of mutual support and cooperation between the university and its alumni. Through close collaboration with the Alumni Office, relevant university departments, college sub-associations, and local alumni sub-associations, the association has made significant efforts to strengthen communication, establish organizations, build platforms, organize activities, create atmospheres, and enhance cooperation, and has formed the good situation with the university caring about alumni, alumni caring about their alma mater,  mutual support, resource sharing and win-win development, garnering high praise from school leaders, faculty, students, and alumni alike. Various college alumni sub-associations, local alumni sub-associations, and overseas alumni associations have been established under the association’s leadership.

On September 16, 2013, the association was granted preliminary approval for its name “Henan Normal University Alumni Association” by Civil Affairs Department of Henan Province.

On September 23, 2013, the first session of the alumni representative assembly was held, with Wang Jianji appointed as president and legal representative and Zhu Huabei as secretary-general.

On July 3, 2021, the second alumni assembly took place, during which new alumni leaders were elected, including Ma Zhijun as president, Wei Haiqin as legal representative, and Meng Chao as secretary-general.

Established in April 2009, the Alumni and Fund Office of Henan Normal University is responsible for the day-to-day operations of AAHNU. With the guidance of university and alumni association leaders, we prioritize using affection to strengthen bonds, communication as a tool for connection, activities to facilitate engagement, and career development as our ultimate goal. Our primary focus is to unite and mobilize Henan Normal University alumni to participate in meaningful activities and networking opportunities as outlined in the alumni association statutes. We strive to provide a wide range of services for our alumni community.

To enhance our organizational structure, we have successfully established an international alumni association in the UK, as well as 23 local alumni associations—11 of which are located outside Henan province in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Jiangmen, Zhongshan, Zhejiang, Tianjian, Hubei, Shanxi, Hainan, Fujian, Yunnan, Jiangxi; and 12 within Henan province in cities like Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Puyang, Kaifeng, Xinxiang, Pingdingshan, Sanmenxia, Nanyang, Shangqiu, Xuchang, Hebi, and Anyang. Additionally, we have formed the Zhengzhou Alumni Entrepreneurs Association as an industry-specific association, and created 32 local alumni branches by different colleges.
